No Building Codes Needed – A Guide to States with No Building Codes

If any of you have been wondering Terry Herb (founder of Containerist.com) has been up to, you are about to find out. He have been working hard on a book project for some time now. It happens to be a trade paperback guidebook entitled  “No Building Codes“. It is a good read which will help the average owner-builder discover the last remaining places in the USA where it is considered unnecessary to build with no building codes!

Terry Herb quotes saying “I felt compelled to create this book because there was a major void to be filled. No matter how hard I looked online, there was no resource book of any sort available to me on the subject of where to find states with no building codes. None! I thought to myself: Looks like I got a book to write”

Terry Herb is no beginner by any means when it comes to writing, having written several other off-topic books, but according to Terry, this one had him pretty enthused about crafting it together. Was it easy to write? Heck no! “It was a daunting task because I had to cover each and every state in the U.S. I had to gather sources together to determine which codes were current, outdated, or even if a code existed.”

Terry’s writing endeavor was filled with never ending stretches of research and composition which at times lasted for 12+ hours straight; “there were days where I didn’t hit the sack till after 7 A.M. A good night’s sleep? I wish. It was crazy being in that zone where time is of no essence”.

The good news is that the book is finally done and ready for for you if you are interested.

If you are looking to make your life easier and get some good insight on the different places still left in the USA where you can actually construct a home without worrying or sweating about complicated building codes in your path of progress, then this book is definitely for you!
