Fire and Tornado Safe Container Homes?

Container Homes – Are They Fire and Tornado Safe?

Many people ask us about Container Homes being both fire and tornado safe. This question is very important since having one as a home, the obvious can be frightening. In this brief article, we try to explain some important notes on this subject to eliminate any fear or worry you may have regarding the possible destruction of mother nature.

For starters, we all know the power that mother nature can have when it comes to earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and fires.

Sometimes what ever you have may not ever be enough to keep you out of the path of a violent tornado but I can say this, read on and discover some things to take note of about this subject.

Shipping containers, to the most extent possible, are made of steel. They are constructed from nonflammable recycled materials.   Fire risk is minimized by the very nature of the construction.

However, as with all structures occupied by human beings, due primarily to the materials applied and used in the furniture and other accommodations, there’s always some risk of fire.  For the safety of our customers all Shipping container homes are offered with smoke detectors and, in the event of an emergency, have more than one egress from the home. The 1st thing I acknowledged is that tornadoes, hurricanes and twisters all demolish, destroy and totally ruin in their own special unique method.  I am sure by now that you have seen on T. V. or even in real life buildings and typical regular wooden homes that have been demolished by fire, falling trees, windstorms etc…  For each one, their  demolition results in their own horrible footmarks.

When speaking about a fire, you have the scorching of the wood burning to a crisp leaving behind a non-livable home environment.  Falling trees are even known to crush homes. Windy weather can push homes on their sides.

Container Homes can be a great alternative to your regular home when dealing with safety. Even though there is no guarantee that nothing will happen to your cargo home, your odds are greatly improved by just having a steel shell as an outskirt for a house instead of wood or aluminum. Cargo Container Homes are made from strong corrugated steel and can seriously take a beating before total destruction takes place. I don’t know about you but I would 100% rather be inside of a steel cargo container shell when a hurricane or tornado comes my way instead of a wooden house!

Please feel free to comment and leave your opinions. They are all considered and we take pride in reading what you have to share.
